Call for Proposals: International Law Weekend

Dear Dean, Chair, or Director:

On behalf of the Coordinating Committee of International Law Weekend (ILW) 2013, I am pleased to share the attached Call for Proposals, which we hope you will distribute to your faculty and law students.
International Law Weekend is an annual event in New York City sponsored by the American Branch of the International Law Association.  This two-and-a-half day conference features over 30 panels, and many of the world’s leading international lawyers, academics, and diplomats participate.  ILW is the only major international law conference that is free to students.  Attendance is also free for members of the International Law Association and modestly priced for nonmembers.  ILW offers a superb opportunity for faculty members to showcase their scholarship to a large, diverse, and sophisticated group.  Recent ILWs have attracted an audience of 800 to 1000 students, academics, diplomats, and practitioners.
ILW requires significant outside funding to provide this forum for the international law community.  We are accordingly seeking sponsorship for the event.  A contribution of $1200 will not only help make the conference possible but can offer valuable promotional opportunities for your institution.  Last year, our academic sponsors included:
American University, Washington College of Law
Amherst College, Department of Law, Jurisprudence & Social Thought
Boston University School of Law
Brooklyn Law School
Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law
Case Western Reserve Law School
Columbia Law School
